I'm currently studying at Columbia University. I believe in instilling students with problem solving skills to enhance their educational endeavors for a lifetime. I believe in the potential for any student to achieve an A in every course and in every assignment.
More so than a grade, my goal is I will work with you to crush those quantitative questions, verbal questions and the AWA. Let's go and achieve outstanding success. Why do I love Tutoring? Tutoring helps me to inculcate confidence, diligence and competence I have years of experience tutoring peers in finance related courses including corporate finance, behavioral finance, derivative instruments and alternative investment assets. I believe in connecting classroom or theoretical finance concepts and real world applications.
In my experience once a student is helped to make this connection, they almost never forget the subject matter. Outside of academia, I love reading fiction and non-fiction , I currently work as an analyst at a small business development agency. Some of my hobbies include hiking, travelling, long distance biking and burning the dance floor to some salsa or bachata beats. If you cannot find me doing any of the above, then you are most likely to find me baking a I listen to the student's needs within the context of the exam in question, explain the complex in easy-to-understand terms, and seek feedback.
Have been tutoring on and off in a variety of subject areas since the 7th grade. My areas of specialty are in the science and in money-related topics such as securities, insurance, economics, finance, and accounting. Having had careers in finance and education, my objective as a finance tutor is to explain concepts in straightforward terms with everyday examples.
I aim to give life to the dynamics and calculations and enable students to apply the tools to real-life situations that finance professionals face daily. I am a recent grad from Providence College, dual degree in Finance and Math.
While in university I was the teaching assistant for my Finance professors and helped my fellow students understand concepts that were not clear. I have also helped my fellow CFA candidates with concepts and practice questions and have tutored O levels students with Math problems.
Since graduation I have been involved in the field of finance and investments and I am an experienced professional having spent over 15 years in progressive finance leadership roles at publicly listed companies spanning the semiconductor, apparel, and industrial technology sectors. Professionally, I am passionate about financial markets, financial statement analysis and risk.
I enjoy mentoring new students on the accounting and economic concepts fundamental to understanding business. These tools and concepts will serve as the foundation for the Level II and Level III exams, which focus on investment valuation and portfolio management respectively.
