Espelette london restaurant

At least email so I could reconsider my special meal. The Barbera d"Alba we ordered was a bit too warm, but at that point I was just having not to be more upset. Had one dessert to share - the chocolate log which was really nice. Only in the cab I noticed we got charged for an extra dessert. Instead one 2 course, one 3 course both were charged as 3 courses per person. Not only no even smallest gesture for our anniversary on the dessert plate, we got overcharged for an extra! Would never recommend or go back.

I spent some time trying to book a special Saturday night dinner at a London restaurant WC1 area. I guess I didn't anticipate how difficult it would be to book a renowned establishment less than a month in advance. However, Espelette had a booking available for the time and date required, this should have been a warning sign..! In short the food was fine, it just wasn't special in any way.

Basic food, well cooked. I had a very nice steak and my wife had the Norfolk chicken But it was overpriced for what it was. In terms of ambience the lighting level was a bit bright in my opinion. There are some cosy looking tables, however we were not seated on one of them! So we ended up poked away by the kitchen entrance. Sorry, I will not be going back. I'm sure this is a rather good restaurant, although I certainly wouldn't pay the prices on the menu.

My real problem was that we had a special deal with a glass of champagne and the staff knew nothing about it. Opentable really needs to get its house in order! We enjoyed delicious food in a magical environment-the most attentive service I have ever experienced from the minute we stepped through the door to our leaving. The set meal with champagne deal was real value for money.

We will definitely make a return visit. It is definitely a great place to take people around for a special occasion and its such a beauitful setting of espelette. I took my clients there on a sunday evening for some dinner and drinks and it was really lovely. Food was amazing and service even better. Highly recommend! Great service. Good quality food prep. Not cheap but also not over priced. Very close to where we live.

It is a posh place but you can get in and out in 60 minutes if you are in a hurry. Would be nice with some more vegetarian options though. We didn't manage to get a table at Helene Darroze so we settled at Espelette instead. The staff at Espelette are so attentive, friendly and really endeavour to make your evening special from the moment you walk in.

The wine list and the cocktail menu are both extensive and boast some exquisite wines. The food menu was enticing too with a large variety of options. From what I could remember, crab meat quinoa salad, salmon sashimi salad, pan-seared scallops, grilled catch of the day comprise merely a fraction of the options available.

Although the food sounded lovely, the actual execution of the dishes were slightly disappointing. The french onion soup was extremely over-seasoned and so salty to the extent that it left your mouth with a bitter aftertaste, and the filet de boeuf was overcooked, although I have to mention that it was a really good cut of beef which helped to salvage the dish.

All in all a great evening - although we are foodies and were disappointed in the food, the setting, the drinks and the service more than made up for it and we will give Espelette another go in the near future. We really enjoyed the evening celebrating my friend's birthday.

Excellent food, service and ambient. I have been to the Espelette many times, for tea, dinner, afternoon tea, and it has always delighted. The restaurant is split into an indoor section with a fire and a conservatory, and both are beautiful.

The waiting staff are elegant and attentive, and the atmosphere is just wonderful. Food is good, as you'd expect - I'm not sure that's why I come here though. Highly recommended. After confirming a reservation for a party of 3 diners, we got to the restaurant and all they were able to offer us was a tiny table for 2, where they had added a third chair, located right next to a serving table, further reducing the dining space available. We asked for an alternative and they claimed there was nothing available there were a number of tables free.

They were completely unfazed at the fact that they could not offer a proper table for lunch nor helpful in trying to accommodate us. We left and went somewhere else. Scott's, around the corner was much, much better! So I prefer having afternoon tea here. Espelette enjoys excellent views over the Mount Street area and could be such a great venue restaurant.
